While at the school:
- Classes start at 9.00am.
- St. Peter's School is situated within a beautiful, historic area is subsequently subject to noise restrictions. Therefore we ask that any social activity within the confines of the school end at 10.00pm. Although older students are welcome to visit the town centre only two minute’s walk away, the street itself must be clear of students at this time as it is a small lane with many residents.
- Although the school is sympathetic to those with personal problems, like most schools, St. Peter's does not operate a refund policy as staff, host families and materials have to be ordered/booked in advance.
- Students should speak English within the school to aid their studies.
While staying with host families:
- Please respect your host family by not making too much noise in the evening - they may either
have their own children or have to be up for work early.
- If you cause any damage it is your responsibility to pay for it.
- Night time curfews for younger students should be observed and group leaders, for young students, should accept loco parentis responsibility for children. Of course Host Families will do all they can for children under 16 but the ultimate responsibility for behaviour lies with the teacher or group leader.
- Students should not help themselves to food unless agreed with the Host Family. Sometimes people are not comfortable with visitors in their kitchen especially as they will cook evening meals anyway.
- Please note : if students are going to be late or absent altogether during meal-times please tell the Host Family as they will start cooking the meal in advance. Meals are typically ready by 6.00-6.30pm. The Host Family does not have to cook a later meal if the student is late.
- Under 16s are expected home by 10.30pm at the latest.
- If you wish to use the home phone, you will need to ask the permission of the Host Family even if you use a phone card. All bills will be charged to parents or agencies if permission was not sought.
