Information about excursions
Canterbury Cathedral is part of the UNESCO
World Heritage Site. The cathedral dates from 597 AD and it
is where St. Thomas Becket was murdered in 1170.
Leeds Castle is set on two islands and it
has been home to royalty for over a thousand years. As well
as the castle island, there are parks and gardens, an aviary,
a maze and grotto, a pay and play golf course and a vineyard.
There are also daily falconry displays.
The Canterbury Tales allow visitors to experience
the sights, sounds and smells of Chaucer’s time when
pilgrims travelled from London to the shrine of Thomas Becket
in Canterbury. Visitors hear some of the pilgrims’ stories
in this accurate recreation of medieval life.
The London excursion enables students to
visit one of the most exciting cities in the world. They are
free to visit museums, galleries, parks as well as some of
the famous sights.
Royal Greenwich is home to the world-famous
Royal Observatory. Stand on the Meridian Line, visit the parks
or enjoy wandering around the village. Watch a spectacular
planetarium show and learn the secrets of the universe in
the new astronomy galleries as an optional extra.
Optional sports: swimming, golf, cycling,
horse riding and walking can be arranged through the school.
We can also organise theatre or cinema visits and visits to
museums (extra charge).
Accommodation is with a host family. Accommodation
is shared; for single accommodation there is a supplementary
of £15 a week. There are cafes and restaurants near
the school for snacks or a full meal.

school for more info:
