Further Information
  • Recommendations:

We strongly recommend, whether as a group or an individual, you take out personal insurance before you visit the UK, including medical insurance. Although the school itself is covered there are occasions this would be advisable in case something was to happen outside the school premises. Though rare, sometimes airports can misplace baggage or a student may require a doctor (without insurance a doctor’s visit can incur a special charge for some). And although the NHS is free there can be queues at times. In most cases a doctor would suffice, so we do recommend all students and leaders consider all forms of personal insurance before they visit the UK so their stay is as trouble free as possible.

  • Host Family accommodation:

(Please see ‘Terms and Conditions’ as regards to host families). For individuals we strongly advise they contact their host families BEFORE the day of arrival so they can ensure someone is in to greet you. Many work or need to shop etc. and cannot stay indoors all day waiting for an arrival when they have not been informed the time. Therefore we ask that individual students, when they are given the host family addresses and contact details, let the families know the day before arrival the time they expect to reach Canterbury and the homes. If there are delays at the airport we ask host families are kept informed.

  • FEES

In most situations, as is the case with many schools, fees are usually non refundable unless there is sufficient cause. Staff, teachers, resources, families all have to be booked and paid for in advance.
